Give yourself quiet time for self care.
One of the things that I try to do each day is give myself quiet time for self care.
I don’t binge watch Netflix, indulge in my favorite treats, or pamper myself like I used to do in the past.
Instead, I force myself to read and listen to books that make me think and look at myself and my life differently.
I focus on meditating, being quiet and making time to release the tension from the day.
Some days I can actually get up before my kids and set my mind and spirit up for the challenges of the day.
Why did I change what I was doing for self care?
Because what I was doing for self care made me feel so good, but it truly left me feeling so unfulfilled as a mom.
That kind of self care, while necessary, never filled my dominant personality and my mental, emotional and spiritual needs.
Every mom needs to take time out for herself and truly work on getting to know her and work on progressing to who she wants to become as an individual.
It’s in our nature to constantly want to improve, do better and many of us thrive on doing MORE than simply “surviving” today.
Learning about your personality is super important and very much needed when learning what actually fulfills your needs.
What is it that truly leaves you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for the day? I’d love to hear it in the comments below.
