It’s a word one of my dear friends used recently to describe parenting - especially in those early hazy always-breastfeeding and rarely-sleeping days - and OH did it resonate.
When you have a baby, your responsibility switch goes from being on ‘rarely’ to ‘24/7’. Sometimes those daily interactions with our children can be relentless. ‘Yes, I hear you’. ‘Sounds like you’re frustrated! (said through gritted teeth while being screamed at 😂🙈)’.
‘I wonder how we can solve this problem?’. These phrases don’t immediately extinguish tricky behaviours! Is it even worth it?? Don’t lose sight of the forest, and remember that tending the trees is important - and you’re good at it.
Our goal isn’t to have children who behave. It’s to have children who are empathetic, connected, and compassionate thought leaders who change the world in a million positive ways.
You got this mama.
