She wants to BE mommy.
When childhood gets tough, milk’s always got her back. This girl wants to be just like mommy. In fact, I think she wants to BE mommy. And while it’s the most adorable thing ever seeing her wear my heels (and somehow walk in them better than I do), try on all of my jewelry and have fun exploring my makeup, I just want her to know how great being a kid truly is. . .
But you know what? I think we need to understand that no matter how much we want them to stay little, being a kid is hard sometimes too. Imagine trying to communicate something to your parents, only to have them not understand you. Imagine being told you have to go to bed even when you aren’t even a little bit sleepy. Imagine having to make new friends and having to deal with bullies and homework. All of that is hard – it’s really hard. So let’s give them a break and let them look forward to their futures and their dreams and their goals. Let’s allow them to be hopeful about their adult futures. But of course, they’ll always be our babies no matter what age.
